At least this worked for.me anyways, I can put epic/Rockstar into offline mode and rdr2 works offline now. There are some folders under documents you have to delete to fix this issue.

I was worried about stuff like this, back when games began using Securom Internet-style DRM, Steam client-app stuff and it's now 5000 wannabes, and especially w/ Diablo 3 PC version.

It's funny how not many anymore worry about DRM, client-app's, launchers, and servers, Achievement systems, Cloud Saves, and all of those pesky requirements and what they really entail - until it's way too late, once the game's out and/or been updated to enforce these things.or a patch to the game and/or client-app totally breaks it (by accident or not). You'd have to dig around and see if there's any work-arounds - been Googling.and sadly, I also don't see any.įrom what I'm gathering - in the old days for RDR2 PC, you needed to Phone Home/Connect at least once via Rockstar Launcher (to its servers) and play for a bit - then it could create an offline session, in case you got kicked offline.so it could keep running, in case you got kicked offline or lost your connection. And any other reasons you can think of. Easy way to sell MTX's (Micro-Transactions) to players. they are not separate EXE files), so.easier to do it all this way as one big product. Multiplayer is bundled and integrated into it and also a part the base-game (i.e. Data-mining/keylogging how players play the game (especially since this goes in hand w/ the previous 2 reasons). So, it's probably same reasons Diablo 3 PC never got an offline mode, when you can play it single-player style no problem. Rockstar has always been one of the most notorious for DRM schemes.
